Roel H. Rodriguez

Protection and serving the community are all too familiar concepts for former federal law enforcement officer, Roel Rodriguez. When probed about what drew him to a career in the insurance industry he responded, “The ability to serve the community, solve problems and become a business owner.”

Remaining true to the values he holds dear, Roel selected New York Life Insurance Company because of its unwavering commitment to also protect and serve diverse communities.

Overcoming the life insurance agent stereotype was Roel’s greatest career challenge. However, with the proper training, Roel positioned himself in a way that focused on the value he brought to the table and in less than two years, he’s developed into a very successful agent.

Driving and developing new business year after year with his peers and clearly identifying markets which he felt would be great entry points to build a long-lasting business, allowed Roel to achieve some internal sales accolades.

Roel credits his early success to identifying where he could make the most impact. Having had a successful career in law enforcement, it only made sense that his law enforcement associates would have needs that he could address from a place of familiarity.

Leveraging pre-existing relationships with former associates and teachers gave Roel a clear picture of the communities that could benefit mostly from his expertise.

In the future Roel believes he would want to mentor and develop other agents, but until then he is committed to nurturing relationships in the present to build a sustainable business in the future.
